Missions Report Jul-Sep 2019

From Issue 4/2019 of the Trinitarian Magazine

Trinity’s missions endeavors to demonstratea passionate heartbeat for God’s global agenda by empowering and equipping churches, organizations, ministries, ministers, and communities.

This includes the establishment of, and/or support to, charitable and humanitarian works, as well as equipping of pastors and church leadership.

THAILAND
TRINITY@BANGKOK
Trinity@Bangkok has moved its Services and Life Skill Courses to Chamchuri Square. Strategically located next to the Chulalongkorn University, the church is now positioned to reach out to many young adults studying, working, and living in the city.

At the inaugural service on August 18, five people became the first to receive church membership at Trinity@Bangkok.

At the first Spiritual Parenting course (September 28 and October 6), six participants completed the training, catching the heart of connect and disciple, and learning how to share the Gospel. Members of the Silver Force and the Wave teams comprising AlphaTrackers continue to come alongside with Trinity@Bangkok in connecting and discipling through street evangelism, Connect Group, events, and Trinity Academy courses.

TRINITY@JAKARTA
On July 21, the pre-service prayer was launched where members intercede for the service and various needs submitted by the congregation 15 minutes before the start of worship.

On August 25, Trinity@Jakarta reached another milestone with the installation of Pastor Budi Haryanto as her first bi-vocational pastor.
To continue empowering and developing Spirit-filled leaders, two classes were conducted – Introduction to the Trinity Family (water baptism and church membership class) and Connect Leaders’ Training (training of small group leaders).

MISSIONS IMPACT TEAMS

In the third quarter of this year, 114 Trinitarians (53 going for the first time) went to Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore for missions trips (pg 74).

LANGUAGE MINISTRIES

On September 15, the four Language Ministries (Filipino, Indonesian, Japanese, and Thai) and the Chinese Ministry had their first combined Leaders’ Meeting.

It was a time of celebration as each ministry shared what God had been doing in their ministry, ending with a time of prophetically praying over each of the ministries.

TRAINING AND CONSULTATION

Trinity continues to equip churches from around the world through training and consultation trips. This quarter, our pastors went on five trips to four countries (China, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Vietnam) to continue ongoing cell church training with the network of churches.

SPONSORSHIP OF CHILDREN
The giving of Trinitarians support 1,349 destitute children in four countries (India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand). Through your financial support, these children have opportunities to develop intellectually, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and socially.

What We Do

Church Development

In Trinity, we want to help each person grow in their walk with God and develop their potential as a Strategic Leader through a culture of Evangelism, Nurturing, Leadership Development and Pastoral Care.

By introducing the Cell Church model, Trinity has equipped churches to fulfill the Great Commission. This model has transformed churches in many countries, including Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Poland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom and the United States.

Read more about Trinity’s Cell Church Model:

Trinity’s Cell Church Model

A. A culture of Evangelism – resulting in multiplication of carecells and church growth

  • The Spiritual Parenting plan provides a step-by-step process for touching people with the love of Jesus. This helps people overcome the barriers to evangelism.
  • Evangelism becomes do-able – no longer just for the super-evangelists!

B. A culture of Nurturing, resulting in spiritual growth and fruitfulness.

  • Every new Christian and visitor will be discipled by a Spiritual Parent (SP).
  • Every believer is properly nurtured to become SPs.

C. A culture of Leadership Development – resulting in an ever increasing leadership base that enables

  • The church to fulfill its God-given mission and vision.
  • New leaders are constantly being identified and groomed. The progressive path to leadership helps those who are afraid to make the leap, to take “baby steps”.
  • Leaders are continually discipled in knowledge character and skills, enabling them to become the leader God wants them to be.

D. A culture of Pastoral Care – resulting in quality care for every person

  • Every person comes under the pastoral care of the pastors and leaders.
  • During times of need or crisis, members experience care from the carecell as well as the pastors.

Altogether, Trinity’s Cell Church model is a biblical model that:

  • Releases the five-fold ministries to equip God’s people, and
  • Equips the people to fulfill the ministry of reconciliation.

The result is a church that is aligned to God’s divine order given in Ephesians 4:11-16.

Every year, Trinitarians teams go to various countries to impact and encourage churches. We partner with the local churches to:

  • Visit homes and carecells
  • Pray for the sick
  • Minister to children and youth
  • Encourage the people

Community Development

Crisis Relief Humanitarian Works

We are very grateful to Trinity for your timely help to the flood victims of Kurnool. People felt so happy receiving the stoves, woolen blankets, mats and cooking vessels.”

 - Pastor from Kurnool

With disasters happening increasingly around the world, Trinity partners with trusted churches and missions agencies to bring humanitarian aid such as medical supplies and necessities. Trinity has also sent teams to sites of natural disaster to rebuild houses.

Non-crisis Humanitarian Works

“Previously we had to walk more than 5km to fetch clean drinking water, and at times we even had to drink polluted water from nearby ponds. Now, we have access to plenty of pure drinking water right at our doorstep.”

- A villager from Ulchala, India

“After the earthquake many of the villagers took the risk of staying in their partially-damaged houses. Thank you for sending your team to build houses for our people.”

- A villager from Padang, Indonesia

Trinity also helps improve standards of living in communities by building houses, sanitation facilities and bore-wells, distributing food supplies and necessities, and helping out at medical camps.

Children Sponsorship

“My mother and I were thrown out onto the streets and had to beg to survive. In June 2010, I was enrolled by a pastor into Home of the Champions. Now we have Jesus in our lives and a shelter.'”

- A sponsored child from India, 6 years old

Trinity sponsors a total of 1,052 children from Homes in Cambodia, India and Thailand, until they reach 18 years of age or grade 12. The children have a safe haven where they are cared for, receive food and clothes and have the opportunity to go to school.

Care Community Services Society (CCSS)

“The staff at CareHuts believed in me. I've learnt how to manage my anger and keep the use of inappropriate words in check.'”

- Boy B*, 13 years old

“I live alone as I could not get along well with my daughter-in-law. The staff and volunteers of CCSS visited me and invited me to the Seniors Activity Centre where I found many friends. I do not have any worries now and I am really happy.'”

- Mdm P*, 80 years old

*Names have been removed to protect our beneficiaries.

Founded by Trinity Christian Centre in 1996 as an expression of its Local Missions, CCSS is a non-profit charitable organization affiliated with the National Council of Social Services. Find out more about CCSS here

The Reason for God
By Timothy Keller

Timothy Keller addresses the frequent doubts that skeptics, and even ardent believers, have about religion. Using literature, philosophy, real-life conversations, and potent reasoning, Keller explains how the belief in a Christian God is, in fact, a sound and rational one. To true believers he offers a solid platform on which to stand their ground against the backlash to religion created by the Age of Skepticism. And to skeptics, atheists, and agnostics, he provides a challenging argument for pursuing the reason for God.

Keller

Every Good Endeavor
By Timothy Keller

With deep conviction and often surprising advice, Keller shows readers that biblical wisdom is immensely relevant to our questions about work today. In fact, the Christian view of work—that we work to serve others, not ourselves—can provide the foundation of a thriving professional and balanced personal life. Keller shows how excellence, integrity, discipline, creativity, and passion in the workplace can help others and even be considered acts of worship—not just of self-interest.
